The 2008 Gulf Coast Scratch Tour season picks up where it
left off last year — at Marcus Pointe Golf Club in Pensacola, Fla.
The season's first event at Marcus Pointe is Jan. 26-27
and kicks
off a 17-tournament schedule that includes two events each at Marcus
Pointe and The Country Club of Brewton, Ala.

The schedule also features two
first-time venues — Highland Oaks, the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail facility
in Dothan, Ala., and Grand Bear Golf Club, the Jack Nicklaus design in Saucier, Miss.
Matt Johnson of Dothan, Ala., secured his second
consecutive Player of the Year award when he won his second Pensacola
Masters at Marcus Pointe in October.
Johnson is
only the second player to win the Player of the Year award more than
once.
Mike Riley of Panama
City, Fla., won four in a row beginning in 1997 and is part of a strong
cast of challengers that includes 2005 Player of the Year Jerry Halfacre
of Cantonment, Fla.
